The Black Cat- Edgar Allan Poe

Hey readers, 

today we gonna talk about the story "The Black Cat".

       "The Black Cat" tells a story about a couple that had many animals. Pluto was the wife's favorite. During the narrative, we discovered that the husband start to drink a lot and have some issues with alcohol. He start to hit on his wife and in their animals, less Pluto, but the cat avoid him, because was afraid. 

       One day, when he arrives home drunk, attacks Pluto too, because he was hatred. Due to this, the cat loses one eye. After, while he arrives home drunk again and kills Pluto hanged. 
                                       
       At the night, when the couple was sleeping their house starts burning and fall down. Desperate they run away but mysteriously one wall continued there and there they can see Plato's shadow on the wall. 

After years, the man finds a cat really like Pluto. The animal follows him up to home. The couple imagined that this is a sinal that they will find hapiness again. But the same happen again.  He starts to drink again and come home drunk. 

       One day, he tries to kill the cat but his wife stops him. He ends up killing her and hiding her body on the wall. The police goes to his house because he was the principal suspect and with the cat's help they find her body on the wall.

The Mask of Red Death- Edgar Allan Poe

     
      Hey readers!
    
      On this post, we gonna talk about the story " The Mask Of Red Death".

      The story starts with a lot of poeple dying in a kingdom. Everybody was afraid, but the king wasn't. He closed the castle for that nobody could enter. On the castle only was the king, nobles and artists, musicians, people to keep the king entertained.

Some months later, the king decided to make a prom of masks in the castle. Was horrible because while the nobles was having fun, a lot of people was dying out of the castle. At midnight a masked man came in to the party. The king was furious and followed that man. The people took of the mask of the men, but nobody was behind the mask.
Then, they realized that it was the Red Death and everyone who was in the castle died.

Who was Edgar Allan Poe?

Hey readers!

Today, we gonna talk about Edgar Allan Poe, the writer of all these stories.

Edgar Allan Poe was born in 1809 in Boston. He represent Romantiscism in United States. Poe was writer, critic and editor and became famous for his tales of mystery and horror.

He never knew his parents. His father left he and his wife. His mother passed away when he was just three. Poe went to live with John and Frances Allan, a successful tobacco merchant and his wife, in Richmond, Virginia. When he went to studied at University of Virginia in 1826, he didn't receive enough funds from Allan to cover all his costs. Frustrated, Poe left the Allans.

                                      

He join to the Military Academy in 1830. After leaving the academy, Poe focused his writing full time. He moved to Baltimore to live with his aunt and her daughter. Virginia, his cousin, was his literaly inspiration as well his lover. They married in 1836.


His first book was published in 1830. In 1845 he became a literaly sensation with the publication of the poem "The Raven." It was considered a great American literary work and one of the best of Poe's career.


He died in Octuber, 7, 1849 due a congestion of his brain. At this time he already was sick. But his actual cause of death has been the subject of endless speculation. Some experts believe that alcoholism led to his demise while others offer up alternative theories. Rabies, epilepsy, carbon monoxide poisoning are just some of the conditions thought to have led to the great writer's death.
